~Scraps of Darkness July Kit DT Reveal~

Hello Everyone!  I'm back to share a few little items I made using the Scraps of Darkness Gypsy Summer kit.  This was a very colorful, fun, and funky kit to work with.  Remember you can always head over to Scraps of Darkness to check out their store for kits that are still available!!

This first one is a layout of my 2nd daughter and a couple of our fur babies.

This 2nd little project I made a invitation with a matching envelope that I made out of circles.

If you would like to create a card like this, just cut four 5 inch circles then fold them all in half.  Then overlap that as shown below so the folds all make a square.  The inside card dimensions are 4.75x4.75 inches, so it fits nicely inside.
The last couple little items are tags! I inked, stamped, then drew and cut out the little flowers and hearts.  I always forget how much I like to doodle, so I think I need to do it more often.
Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!

~Donna Salazar Designs Weathered Door Tutorial~

Welcome Back!! It's me again!!  I am back to show you a quick how to on making a weathered door from chipboard.  Here is the layout I made using one of the doors I created.
You Will Need:
1) Thin Piece of Chipboard Cut to about 7.5"x4"
2) Pencil and Cutting Tool
3) Gesso
4) Smooch Spritz in Caramel Latte and Wood Stain
5) Paper Towel or Cloth to Wipe With
6) Driftwood Chox Inx

To start your door you need to create the window for it.  I just cut out a pizza shape and traced it four times to create my window.

Next use a cutting tool to cut out the window and then lightly coat your door with gesso.
Next spray the Wood Stain spritz here and there and then wipe with a paper towel. Repeat using the Caramel Latte spritz.
Then go over the edges and very lightly on the front with Chox Inx in Driftwood.
A door knob is optional and it depends on how you are layering your door.  Sometimes you might not see the handle, but for my layout I did make a door knob using a brad and then drew on a keyhole below it.

~Scraps of Darkness Gypsy Summer Kit~

It's time to show off a little of the Scraps of Darkness July kit called Gypsy Summer!! This is such a fun and colorful kit, which is awesome for all those summer photos you have!!  And just like every other SOD kit, this one is really versatile, so you can go crazy with colors and patterns or mellow it out a little with some of the muted colors!!
For today I am just showing off one layout from this kit, which is my take on the sketch.  Please come back on the 31st to check out the full DT reveal.  This layout is of my 12 year old daughter.  I don't like doing birthday layouts, so instead I do layouts that represent their ages.

~Scraps of Darkness Firecracker Kit Layout~

I wanted to do another layout using the June Scraps of Darkness kit called Firecracker.  This kit is super patriotic with lots of reds and blues, but there is also another side to this kit which I love.  There are some really pretty warm summer tones as well and I used some for this layout of my youngest below.
Here are some close ups!!

The background painted area was done using a stencil and gesso.  Just dab over the spencil with a sponge coated in the gesso.

Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!

~Wedding Gift Bags - Donna Salazar Designs~

Hi Everybody!! It's Mandy!! Everybody knows that when summer comes around, so do weddings and this year I have two in July!  Instead of making a gift, I decided to buy them something and then decorate the bag they went in.  I've done little tiny gift bags like these before, but this time the bags are a bit larger.  I figured I would use a pic of the couple on the front and if they want to, they can cut the front off and keep the page.  So, it's like two gifts in one.

This first bag is for my step sister and her husband.  They are both teachers and for their wedding they are getting married in an old school turned restaurant.  They also did their engagement photos at a library, so with that I decided to stick with a school themed bag for them.
This next one is for a friend of mine and she is very country, so I did my best to match her style for the bag.
Thanks for stopping by!! Below you will find a list of items that I used for these bags!!
