~Dusty Attic Mini Album~

After doing that mini wall hanging, I got the urge to do a whole mini album.  It's been a while since I've done one.  I got some cute pics of Brooky, so I went to town on making one using Dusty Attic chippies!!

I am currently selling Dusty Attic in my store and have lots of the new chippies in stock!!

The whole album was made with heavy black chipboard, cut down to 5x5 inches in size.  I covered almost every page with some sort of texture.  The cover has canvas with molding paste, distress Stickles, and some miscellaneous misting sprays.  I used the bottom of the molding paste jar to make the circles.  The letters are Dusty Attic Bookman ABC set.
On this page I used corrugated cardboard which I covered with crackle paint and distress Stickles.  I used one of the mini dress forms on this page.
For this page I used bubble wrap that I painted with gesso.  I used one of the Dusty Attic wing chippies that I inked and drew feathers on.  I also used some of the Dusty in Bloom flowers.
For this page I covered the chipboard in mulberry paper and stamped and inked the edges.  I used one of the Nameplate #2 chippies as a frame for the smaller photo.  The large bloom is Dusty as well.
On this page I used some old Prima naturals paper that I had.  I stockpiled this paper and I'm glad I did, because it's hard to come by now.  The chippie is the Fancy Letterbox #2.  The blooms are Dusty Attic as well.
I always like to keep a page covered totally in a photo.  It looks neat when you go through album and have a large pic in it.
This page is totally covered in cheesecloth.  I used the two smaller chippies from the Garden Frame Set and covered them with a light color of gesso and stamped them.
I treated this DA Doily #2 the same as the flourishes above.
I glued the photo down to the chipboard and painted gesso all around it.  There is a bit of cheesecloth on the bottom.
I did the back the same as the front.  :)

~Scraps of Darkness Mini Wall Hanging~

I wanted to do something a little different than my usual, so I decided to make a mini wall hanging for my daughter, Rylee.  For this project I used items from the April Sakurabana kit from Scraps of Darkness.  This little wall hanging is only about 5x5 inches.
For the background I just used some black chipboard that I die cut to get the scalloped edge at the top.
TIP:  Cheesecloth is a MUST have item on your scrap desk.  I use it a lot to clean up my spray mats, because it absorbs really well.  Then later I use it for my layouts and it's already a beautiful mess of colors.

This is a pretty funny pic of her, but I love it.  I want to get more full body shots so I can cut them out more often.
Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!

~Dusty Attic Stocked in My Etsy~

Hi Everybody!! Just a quick announcement that my Etsy shop is stocked full of the new Dusty Attic chippies, but it's going fast!! If there is anything you are after I would check it out quick before it's all gone.  These chippies are hard to come by via the US, so it will be over a month before I can get restocked.  HUGS and LOVES!!

~Dusty Attic~

I am back again today with another Dusty Attic page.  This time no blooms, just chippies.  The photo below is of my daughter, Tyler.  She took and edited this photo herself.   I am using a new camera and trying to figure out settings, so some of my pics are off in color, but I am working on it!!  I love my new camera by the way and in case you are wondering what it is...  It's a preowned Canon 1ds Mark ii!!
If you have a chance to get thin grapevines, get them!!  I used a super thin piece on the top of this Art Deco Frame Set chippie!  I painted the frame with black glimmer glaze.

This is one of the new nameplate chippies....  Nameplates #5.  I coated mine with black embossing powder.
Check out the mini light bulbs on this page lol!! No clue where I got them, but they are super cute!!
Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!

~Dusty Attic Chippies and Blooms~

This last winter I got a new puppy named Alli and I finally got around to scrapping a picture of her!!  She is a Border Collie mix and she is so cute!!  For this page I used items from older Scraps of Elegance kits and used some of the brand new chippies and bloom from Dusty Attic!!
Here is a close up of the birdcage #5 chippie that I coated with embossing powder.  In the background I used the Sweet Hearts chippie for a mask.
My butterflies were made from five petal flowers that I cut a petal from.  I kind of liked them being plain.
Here is a close up of some of the Dusty Blooms..  For this layout I used Wild Moss and Champagne Kisses along with some of the Dusty in Bloom Leaves.

Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!

~Donna Salazar Botanique Collection~

Hi all, Mandy here!!  I'm back to show you some of the totally gorgeous Botanique papers along with Donna's yummy bling as well.  Plus I added in a quick how to on making a  starburst background out of triangles.  So here we go!!
You will need to make a triangle template about 3.5 inches wide at the base and 4.5 inches tall in the center.
Now trace your triangle template as show below.  You will need 9 triangles to make the one I did.  Don't worry if your edges have pen marks because we will be distressing and inking them.
 Distress your edges :)
Time to ink!!  I used the color Denim for my edges.
Arrange them on the page in the spot you want.  I let mine hang over and then trimmed them down after I glued them.  After this you can choose to layer circles over the top or place a photo.  It's up to you!!
Here are a few close ups of the final layout!!

Thanks for stopping by!!  Below is a list of the products I used to create this page!!

~Scraps of Darkness April Reveal~

Another month and another amazing kit from Scraps of Darkness!! This month's kit is called Sakurabana, which means Cherry Blossom in Japanese.  This kit is another completely gorgeous and versatile kit!! I love working with kits that can take you different directions and SOD is the best for doing that!!  You don't want to miss out on this fantastic kit!!

There was some gorgeous red and black papers in this kit, so I had to finish scrapping my Red Riding Shots of my daughter, Tyler.  This first layout is based on the April sketch by Charlotte aka Suepup.

This is a close up of the pin I did for this month!

This is a photo of Rylee that she took of herself.  I love the sneer she has on her face lol.

I totally love triangles now.  I think they add a really cool and different element to pages.
Here's my second Red Riding Hood page.
I decorated the Dusty Attic chippie with red and black glimmer glaze by Tattered Angels.  Then I glued tiny rhinestones on it as well.

The crimped paper strips came as packing material.  I had some brown colored ones that I have used in the past and then a new package arrived with black strips.  I was so excited!! :D

This layout is one of my more simple pages, but it shows the other side to this kit with the soft papers.  The photos are of my daughter, Tyler and were taken by my other daughter, Rylee.

The material you see was from a shirt one of my kids was altering, so I thought I would use it on this layout.
I did both faux and real hand stitching for this page.
Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!
