~Baby Girl Canvas - SOD and Punky Scraps~

I recently created this for one of my good friend's.  This is a pic of her baby girl that I took during the time I was watching her.  I used a 12x12 canvas that has been laying around for awhile along with a few items from Scraps of Darkness.  I also have this over at Punky Scraps to finish out the challenges for the month.  I did miss the sketch one though :(
The moss you see on here was included in the Scraps of Darkness Foundations kit for April.  I added it to my canvas and then poured gesso over the top.  I then smushed and worked the gesso in to the moss.  I also used mists and paints from the Color Add-On at Scraps of Darkness.
This effect was created by using tulle and coated it with paints and gesso.  This will add some crazy fun texture to your mixed media work.

~Sketches: Creatively Yours 4-11~

It's time for S:CYs new sketch for the week!  This weeks sketch, created by Ali MacDonald, was a fun one to use.  Here is my take on the sketch.  I used a couple photos of my oldest daughter that she had taken by another photographer.  I used Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers to create this layout.
 Here is the sketch :)

~A Bit of Dusty and SNR~

Just dropping off a couple creations that I put some Dusty Attic chippies on.  I had created these for SNR while I was still a staffer for them and they have now run their course in the magazine so I figured I would share them here on my blog.

This first one is of my my daughter.  I took this photo of her last year.  I used a Dusty vine and fence on this!  Plus I added a few pieces left over from some older Scraps of Darkness kits.
The vines were inked then sprayed with adhesive spray.  I then coated them with ultra fine sparkles.
This next one is of a pic my daughter took of herself.  I thought it was pretty funny so I had to scrap it.  I used a Dusty Attic bracket frame on this!!  No close-ups for these last two layouts, sorry.
Another pic my daughter took of herself.  I used some gorgeous vines that I purchased from Angelica Fransen's Etsy shop.
Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!

~Sketches: Creatively Yours~

I wanted to be sure to post last weeks sketch for S:CY!  I don't have an interpretation of this sketch, but the sketch totally rocks!!  Head on over and join in!!  There is also a digitally drawn sketch for this over at the S:CY blog as well.

~Scraps of Darkness Layout~

Scraps of Darkness has some great challenges going right now and I encourage others to get over there and check them out!  I created this layout with the April Foundations kit that featured Bo Bunny Timepiece papers.  I did a 2fer so I could participate in two challenges with one layout.  The first challenge is the Round Robin and the twist was to use a pic more than 5 years old and create your own flowers.  The second challenge is the Skeletons challenge with a theme of "What defines you as a person."  The cool thing about the Skeletons challenge is it is open to anyone and you don't need to use SOD kit items, but we do ask that you do not promote other kit clubs on the SOD site.

My layout is titled "Remember This Girl", which simply refers to me as a child.  I did some journaling and rolled it up and stuck it in the bottle, where it will most likely stay unless the bottle is ever broken.  However, I will share it with you here.  "Remember this girl?  She was so young and carefree.  She laughed at everything and had a hard time sitting still.  She hated wearing dresses and thought boys were yucky.  She wanted to be a dancing ballerina, a doctor and a mommy.  She thought cleaning her room was the worst thing in the world.  She felt safe in her mother's arms.  Remember this girl?  She is you."
You know I really didn't have red hair, but this photo sure says otherwise lol.  I guess it was the lighting.
Here is a close-up of one of the little flowers I made.  I used a Sizzix 3D flower die for this.  I cut the flower sprayed it with a bit of water and crumpled it up.  After I dried it I rolled it up into the flower.  Makes it comes out looking distressed.

~The Color Room Palette #55~

This weeks colors are vibrant and beautiful with a touch of brown!  I had fun working with this palette and it was a bit of a challenge for me.  I had to pull out my Smooch sprays for this puppy.  Hope you like it.
I used some of the new Dusty Attic flowers for this and covered them with gesso to start.  Smooched them up and painted some snow onto them for added texture.  Sprayed them one more time and walla!
These little dots are really easy to do.  They are a drop of stickles with a 4mm rhinestone mushed in the center of them.
I love how the background turned out.  It reminds me of a sunshine, sky and clouds.  I didn't plan that out, but as I was spraying I began seeing it and went for that look.
Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!

~Scraps of Darkness April Kit - Foundations~

It's time to reveal the new Scraps of Darkness April kit named Foundations.  This kit is packed full of "Wow", "OMGosh", and "Ohh So Pretty." The featured papers in this kit are from the new Bo Bunny Timepiece collection and they are some really gorgeous papers!!  WOW!!  I enjoyed working with this kit so much!!  Check it out!!

Here is the Sketch from the very talented Charlotte aka Suepup.  Her sketches are always fun to work with!
Here is my take on Charlotte's sketch!  This layout is called Young and Beautiful and it features my oldest daughter, Raine.  I added some of the awesome Dusty cog chippies to this as well, but the rest is all SOD goodies.  Can you believe she is only 17?

Ok I finally used some of those eyelets that I have had sitting in a container for over a year.  I'm glad I broke them out again.
These are some of the flowers in the kit that are made by Graphic 45.  These bend easily and they are so pretty.
These cogs are all Dusty Attic.  I coated them with some ink and metallic rubs to get this older look.
I scrapped a lot of my daughter, Raine, with this kit, because her photos that she had done work so well with it.  Here is another one of her that I did, which is more of a mixed media look.
Here is a close up of some of the Petaloo blooms in the kit.  The smaller flowers were from my own stash.

I feel like this pic was made for this door lol.  I cut her out and she fit perfectly.
The butterflies came from the Tim Holtz sticker booklet that is also in the kit.  It's LOADED full of tons of stickers that are thick and easy to distress.  The thickness makes them work more like a diecut.
This next one is of me.  My daughter, Rylee, took these photos of me and she really did a great job.  I call this one "Journey," because that is what life really is.

These letters also come with the Tim Holtz booklet of stickers.  Check out this awesome ZVA bling!!

Here is my last one and we are back to Raine again.  I am so amazed with the amount of stuff in this kit and the textures are off the charts!!  I love this pic of her on the stairs.  I call this, "A Step Back in Time," because I wish I could do that with her and start fresh over some things.
These hole protectors are also included and they are made by Tim Holtz.  I was a bit stumped on what to do with them at first and then I got this idea to punch random holes lol.

These wings are chippies made by Dusty Attic!! I have a little trick to fluff them up to make them look more like feathers.  I am hoping to get a video put together to show how to do this.
That's it for my reveal this time.  I hope to get a couple more done through-out the rest of the month, because I still have more goodies!!

Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!
