~Dusty Attic Layout~

I created this layout using items from the August Scraps of Elegance kit.  I also added two chipboard items from Dusty Attic.  This photo is of my daughter Rylee.  We were inspired by the Taylor Swift video for her Safe and Sound song.
Here is a close up shot of one of the Flourish #8 Chippies.  I coated mine with Gesso and stamped the surface.

I had purchased these beads to put on my pins, but the holes were much too large, so they have been sitting and sitting, until I got this idea to string them on ribbon!!
This chippie is covered in green distress ink and sprayed with green and gold mists.  This is one of the frames from the Scroll Frame Set.
Tip:  To create the torn paper look I used a craft knife and cut out the strips and then distressed and inked the edges.

~Donna Salazar Designs~

Hi Everybody!!  It's Mandy!!  This month I am making a layout for the amazing Natasha Naranjo Aguirre and she asked that we all scrap a photo of ourselves.  So along with the layout I also did a tutorial on stamping color into modeling paste using Donna's stamps!!  So here we go!!
To create the textured background you will need:
1) Modeling or Molding Paste
2) Spatula Tool (Hint: You can use a Cricut spatula)
3) Mix'd Media Inx Color of Your Choice (I used Denim)
4) Smooch Spritz Color of Your Choice (I used Green Olive)
5) Stampers Anonymous Stamp (I used Crackle)
First take your spatula and smooth out a thin, not super thin, layer of modeling paste.  Some areas can be thicker than others and it doesn't have to be perfectly smooth.   Let dry half way!  (You can use a heat gun on low to speed things along)
Second color your Stamp with Mix'd Media Inx - You can get creative by using multiple colors!
Stamp into the Modeling Paste!!
Here is mine after stamping.  I had some Wisteria ink left on my stamp from a practice run!!
Now you can choose to spray a little more color over the top if you would like!! The Smooch Spritz will stay on top and settle darker into the cracks!  Now you can use your heat gun to dry it or let it sit.  Then repeat in other areas if like!
Some Close Up Shots!

~Scraps of Darkness August Kit Reveal~

Sorry this is late, but I still wanted to put together a set of items for the Scraps of Darkness Jamaican Sunset kit reveal.  This is a gorgeous kit full of amazing colors and lots of beautiful embellishments!!  Perfect for summer and tropical layouts!! Vacation pictures anyone?

My first layout is based on the sketch by Charlotte aka Suepup.  This is a photo of a rainbow I saw off of my porch on year.  I love the contrast of the colors against the darkness of the sky.
 August Sketch!

I have a lot of old punches from way back when.  I was able to dust one off and use it for my raindrops!

This is a pic of me that I took on my phone.  I felt in the mood of making a negative space layout.

Some fun with Modeling Paste and paint!! I was at a house of a friend and she has these gazing balls out near her pond.  They are so pretty and went well with this kit!!

I did the circles by using my finger.  It can also work by using a jar if you don't want to get it on your fingers.
This is the project add on...  I created a Jamaican Sunset!!  Plus I love the ocean and it always brings me Joy!!

Here is a pic of the main kit!!
Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!!

~Dusty Attic August ATC~

This month's ATC theme over at Dusty Attic is "Through the Window" and I struggled hard with this one, but finally came up with something that hopefully resembles a window lol.  This is an open and ongoing challenge over at Dusty Attic and we would love for you all to join us there.
For the background I used a Heartfelt Creation Stain Glass Stamp and colored it in with my Ranger markers.  I drew the picture and used stickles on the tree.  For the chippies I used the Mini Picket Fence and the ATC Frame #3.
